Jake and Anna Mueller Wedding Photo
My Grandma Raines’ grandparents, Jake and Anna Mueller, were married on October 29, 1895 in Ava, Illinois. This wedding photo was nestled in a box of family portraits that Grandma kept on a shelf above her washing machine … a likely place for family photos, eh?
Jake is the grandson of Jacob Heinrich Mueller who emigrated from Germany in 1828. Jake was born in 1870 in Turkey Hill, Illinois to Jacob and Dorothea Mueller. He was 88 years old when he died in 1958.
Anna was born in 1873 in St. Clair County, Illinois. I haven’t been able to discover her parents. Her maiden name was Neumann. She also died in 1958, at the age of 85.
Jake and Anna were together for 63 years and I’m fortunate enough to have those years documented from start to finish in photographs.
