Is it Friday already?! This week flew by! I am so thankful that we didn't have any snow this week (except Sunday) and it has been warmer and sunnier! Here's a few of my food finds for the week. Enjoy!
What's under that kilt?
I've been trying to catch up on a little reading this week ... to finish book 5 of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander Series, The Fiery Cross. I'm absolutely hooked on this story! When I heard that the TV series was FINALLY being filmed, I decided I needed to get back to reading. As a result, I've been a bit Scotland-centric this week and my BFF, Stephanie, sent me a link to these Kilt Lifters, err, Baked Scotch Eggs, from Culinary Concoctions by Peabody. They are so simple, and combine two of my favorite things ... sausage and boiled eggs. I always wondered what was under those kilts 😉
Punch with a kick!
Check out this Cafe Mocha Punch from She Wears Many Hats! Coffee, ice cream and cocoa ... what more can you ask for? This is great for a twist on the traditional punch served at wedding and bridal showers, but you could kick it up a bit more with whipped cream vodka and make a killer cocktail! Okay, now I need to have a party!
Here comes Peter Cotton .. Roll?
You may have seen these cute Easter Bunny rolls by now, but I couldn't resist.
Nicole, from Mom Always Finds Out, gives us an easy recipe to add a little whimsy to your dinner table ... whether it's Easter or not!
Avocados!
I LOVE pasta ... a lot ... in any shape with any sauce! Fettuccine Alfredo is one of my favorites, but I tend to shy away from making it too often because of the heavy cream, butter and cheese that goes into a great Alfredo. I think I could eat it nearly every day if I let myself. That would be bad! This Creamy Avocado Pasta from the Flourishing Foodie might just allow me to eat more of my favorite meal without worrying about having a heart attack ... seriously, we call my Fettuccine Alfredo the "Heart Attack Special" because of the amount of cream and butter! Everything in moderation, right!? Using wheat noodles with these avocados makes it even healthier!
A Traditional Scottish Drink for Hogmanay
One thing you have not yet learned about me is that I also LOVE whiskey. I'm sure it is a genetic trait handed down by some Scottish ancestor, but I'll gladly take it. Christina's Cucina has a great recipe for Atholl Brose, a traditional drink for Hogmanay (New Year's Eve). This is such a unique drink that I'm simply compelled to share it.

Thank you for including my Atholl Brose recipe! 🙂
